Cancellation policy

We understand that plans can change.

The following cancellation policy applies to direct bookings made with SPA CHALET VELUWE, unless different cancellation conditions are expressly stated during the booking process or through a third-party booking platform.

Important information about bookings longer than 21 days

Bookings for more than 21 consecutive nights are not permitted.

The park where SPA CHALET VELUWE is located and the applicable local rules prohibit the rental of the chalet for more than 21 consecutive nights.

Any booking that is made for, or otherwise results in, a stay exceeding 21 consecutive nights is therefore not permitted.

If such a booking is nevertheless made, the host reserves the right to cancel the booking, including up to and on the scheduled arrival date, where necessary to comply with the applicable park rules and/or local requirements.

Where the host cancels a booking solely because the booking exceeds the permitted maximum stay, the guest will receive a refund of payments made for the cancelled booking, subject to any mandatory rights or obligations applicable under Dutch law.

Guests are responsible for ensuring that the requested stay does not exceed the maximum permitted stay of 21 consecutive nights.

Cancellation within 1 day of booking

If you or the host cancel your booking within 1 day after making the reservation, you will receive a 100% refund of the amount paid.

No cancellation or processing fee will be charged and no additional compensation will be given.

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival

If you cancel your booking more than 30 days before the scheduled arrival date, you will receive a full refund, less a €50 processing fee.

The €50 processing fee covers administrative and payment-processing costs associated with cancelling and refunding the reservation.

If the host cancels your booking more than 30 days before the scheduled arrival date, you will receive a full refund, plus an additional €100 compensation.

Cancellation between 30 days and 48 hours before arrival

If you cancel your booking 30 days or less before arrival, but at least 48 hours before the scheduled arrival time, you will receive a 50% refund of the total booking amount.

The remaining 50% will be retained as a cancellation charge.

If the host cancels your booking 30 days or less before arrival, but at least 48 hours before the scheduled arrival time, you will receive a full refund, plus an additional €150 compensation.

Cancellation less than 48 hours before arrival

If you cancel your booking less than 48 hours before the scheduled arrival time, no refund will be provided.

The full booking amount will be retained as the cancellation charge.

If the host cancels your booking less than 48 hours before the scheduled arrival time, you will receive a full refund, plus an additional €200 compensation.

How to cancel

Cancellations should be submitted through the booking method used to make the reservation or by contacting us directly: [email protected] for direct bookings.

Please include your name, booking reference and arrival date. The relevant cancellation period is determined by the date and time at which we receive your cancellation request.

Important information about cancellation charges

The cancellation charges reflect the accommodation being reserved for specific dates and the potential loss of the opportunity to re-let those dates after a cancellation.

If we are able to rebook the cancelled dates, we may, at our discretion, offer a partial or full refund beyond the amount required under this cancellation policy.

Any such refund is discretionary and does not create an entitlement for future bookings. Dutch consumer law

This cancellation policy is subject to applicable mandatory provisions of Dutch and European consumer law.

A holiday accommodation booking for a specific date or period is generally excluded from the statutory 14-day withdrawal period that applies to many online purchases and services.

Dutch consumer guidance specifically lists the rental of holiday accommodation for an agreed period as an exception to the normal right of withdrawal.

Where mandatory consumer rights apply, those rights will take precedence over this cancellation policy. Cancellation conditions and any applicable cancellation charges will be communicated to the guest before the booking is completed.

Dutch consumer guidance states that providers of services should clearly inform consumers before purchase about when and how they can cancel and about applicable cancellation conditions.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or restrict a consumer's mandatory statutory rights. Third-party bookings If you booked SPA CHALET VELUWE through a third-party platform such as Booking.com or Airbnb, the cancellation policy and terms displayed on that platform at the time of booking may apply instead of, or in addition to, this policy.

In case of any conflict between the terms of the third-party platform and this policy, the applicable terms governing that booking will apply.
